American Idol has been consistent this year, but so far not really exciting. It seems like everyone wants to play it safe, except for David Archuleta, who is such a natural wonder, that he does not need to play it safe.

Last night's American Idol had its usual big ups and big downs. Sometimes, I think it might be better just to skip all of the preliminaries and get down to the final 6 right straight. Thanks to my newly installed DVR, I can skip over most of the lows of the evening. The singers are good, but sooooooo ordinary and bland most of the time. I can hear more soul at my local blues clubs. Where is the originality??
