Kabillion.com - Free Streaming Online TV Shows for Kids

Kabillion is a free online broadband, streaming TV and video site that targets kids. It was recommended to us by one of our readers, as it is it is designed to be a kids safe site where kids can browse for all kinds of entertainment. This is one site where parents do not have to worry about the content that their kids might see - unlike unrestricted sites such as YouTube.

Comcast Video on Demand is a big player on the Kabillion site. There are lots of shows that kids can choose from such as new cartoons “Mix Master; King of Cards”, the graphic action of “The Invisible Man”, the CG cartoon comedy “Pet Alien” as well as the hit comedy “Bobby’s World” starring Howie Mandel. Each month, Kabillion.com features new, fresh interactive content including some great music, sports events, video games and podcasts.

The site invites browsing, so kids can look for links to new episodes of their favorite TV show. Highlighted this week is Bobby’s World. Kids can join in the chat community and participate, in the latest polls. This is a great, kids-safe site for parents and kids, to enjoy their time together - though make sure the kids get plenty of outdoor exercise.

cool now my kids can watch cartoons online

The site, unfortunately is terribly designed. More often than not, the basic feeatures of the pages are hidden behind oh-so much java buttons and gizmos, making it difficult to navigate. Even the site “map” is just that: an inteactive map that is as frustrating to use as the website itself. Special featues, like the new Transformers Animated Avatars, are not directly linked to from the Transformers page at the site, meaning you have to guess where it is (”Goodies”, then “Avatars” and then the “Featured” section), only to be told that you have to join in order to access that particular content.

The videos, too are somewhat lacking, with miss-labeled episodes, no user-created content (how hard would it be to allow kids to post kid-friendly mobile phone vids a-la youtube?) and what is most dissapointing, no videos that work outisde the good-ole’ U.S of freakin’ A, meaing little Timmy will have to make do with non-kiddy safe content at Youtube when he’s on holiday.

All, in all, this site is somewhat dissapointing and as most kids are more internet-savvy than their most parents, I’m sure they have moved on to the likes of youtube, hulu and those dodgy pirate chinese streaming sites anyway.

Ho hum.
