Truveo.com is one of the best video search-engines that you will find on the Internet. It is the search engine used by Microsoft, Brightcove, and AOL (the owner of Truveo). Their website explains: “Use Truveo to find all types of online video including hit television shows, full-length movies, breaking news clips, sports highlights, music videos, or the latest viral videos. If you are looking for a specific video, Truveo video search can help you find exactly the video you want. Truveo can also help you browse through video across the web and discover new videos that you might like.”
A really nice feature of the search engine is that you can search on specific fields using Modifiers. Modifiers include: title, category, channel, tag, artist, description, show, actor, album, director, writer, producer, and distributor. You can also filter out by: type (free, rent, buy), runtime, quality, format, site (Youtube, MSN, Yahoo, etc.), file size, and days old.
There are many more search and browsing features that you can read about in the help section. I just discovered this engine and am looking forward to using it extensively. Let me know if you know of a better one.
