Quarterlife TV Soap Opera Moves from YouTube to Online TV
quarterlife is the first made for Internet TV shows that is moving to the big screen (TV). The team that is creating quarterlife (they spell it with a small q) is the same creative team behind “My So-Called Life,†“thirtysomething,†“Legends of the Fall,†and “Blood Diamond.†So you know you are going to be watching quality TV.
Starting Tuesday, February 26th, at 10:00 pm EST, quarterlife will debut as an hour-long drama series on NBC, which will be the first time a major TV network broadcasts an Internet series. After the premiere, the show will move to its regular time slot on Sundays at 9:00 p.m EST beginning on March 2, and will continue on NBC for five weeks.
quarterlife was initially launched on MyspaceTV.com in 2007 and then moved over to its own site on November 2007. The Internet series includes 36 eight minute webisodes, with two new episodes airing each week. The show is also available on other sites such as YouTube, Facebook, and Imeem, as well as NBC.com. The quarterlife site features TV links to all of the series TV shows as well as a social community built around the the series. quarterlife was initially launched on MyspaceTV.com in 2007 and then moved over to its own site on November 2007.
In order to appeal to its target demographics, quarterlife focus’s in on life in the 20s and 30s. So if you haven’t had enough of life in your early adult years, here is some more. The creators seek to capture realism in the way their characters speak, work, think, love, argue, and just have fun. You be the judge whether or not they are successful.
