Last night’s American Idol had its usual big ups and big downs. Sometimes, I think it might be better just to skip all of the preliminaries and get down to the final 6 right straight. Thanks to my newly installed DVR, I can skip over most of the lows of the evening. The singers are good, but sooooooo ordinary and bland most of the time. I can hear more soul at my local blues clubs. Where is the originality??
My top picks for last night are, of course, David Archuleta, and someone who came through nicely, David Hernandez. Truthfully, I have already forgotten all of the other performances. I do remember Chikezie and David Cook mouthing off to Simon. I know that it is irresistible at times, but it never works. The singers know what they are getting into, and should just suck it up, say thank you, and acknowledge that they have to work on it, because goodness knows they do. They should be thankful just to get an opportunity to get in front of millions of people and bore us to death. So get real, and know thyself. Simon is a jerk for saying 90% of what he says, but unfortunately for the Idol contestants, he is right. Now for today’s survey.
