Here is an updated the list for the best places to watch free online video clips. I’ve put the new favorites up on top, since those are the ones you are probably most interested in. Of course, you will find the most popular ones further down the list. Let me know which sites are your favorites - and which are not worth the price of admission.
Ustream.tv
Ustream is a do-it-yourself TV video platform, that allows anyone to build their own TV show with just an account on Ustream and a Webcam. The site provides live interactive video for everyone. Anyone with a camera and an Internet connection can use Ustream to broadcast to a global audience.
Megavideo
Megavideo is trying to compete with YouTube with some unique technology and reward incentives. Members who upload videos can share in advertising revenue. There is a unique Quick Seek function as you are viewing the video that allows you to to move back and forward in videos at any time. You can also load longer videos than YouTube and they claim faster upload speeds.
OaFun
This is one of the better Asian video sites with lots of links categorized by movies, funny, music, sexy, and games. David, my partner blogger here, tells me it is one of his favorites - if you like Asian video clips and game links.
CrunchyRoll
Another huge Asian video site with added extras such as video links to Anime, as well as games, music, and Asian drama. If you are a fan of Asian movies and video, there is an extremely active forum that covering all forms of Asian videos, movies and games.
Vidmax
This site is another YouTube clone. It seems to have some original videos on it, but I am not sure that they have enough to compete against YouTube. They’ll have to come up with something more.
Stage6 DIVX
Stage6 lets anyone upload, download, view, share and experience very high quality video clips. >The links on this site will lead to to everything from short clips captured on mobile phones all the way up to full-length, high-definition feature films. Anyone can publish video clips on this site and build their own audience. The site claims that every video available on Stage6 is compatible with over 70 million consumer electronics devices from every major manufacturer, making it easy to play back Stage6 videos on your television or portable device. Remember, you will need to down load the DIVX player to view this site, but it is definitely worth it. One of the best, high quality video platforms I’ve come across and it darn well will please.
Veoh
There’s some really interesting stuff going on over at Veoh, including some shows based on this new phenomenon called User Generated Content. So if you want to be the next Evolution of Dance, might want to skip right past YouTube and head over to Veoh, now that YouTube is working for the man.
Dailymotion
Dailymotion doesn’t have to take a back seat to any other video clip site, even YouTube. This site has a full set of links to the best online TV, movies and film clips anywhere on the Internet. It is one of the primary site used by the online TV and movie aggregation sites. You’ll find plenty of high quality news, funny, music, politics, gaming, and webcam video clips. I know that you have only a limited amount of time and can’t spend all of your time watching video clips, so we’re sorry we’ve made it difficult for you by adding Dailymotion to your already crowded YouTube list of links.
MetaCafe
MetaCafe is trying hard to make itself different from the other top video clip sites. They have their own Producer Awards to make it easy for you to find the best video clips on their site. The quality of the clips is high, so you won’t be disappointed and the speed is also excellent. They definitely are in the same league as YouTube and Dailymotion.
YouTube
This is the granddaddy of all video clip sites. The first place to go, but definitely not the only one.
